TOP RATED SEDANS 4 DOOR: AppLEs TO OrANgeS Comparison

Vehicle (4 door cars)                                           Approximate MSRP
                                                                                                              (Starting From)

  •                  2014 Bentley Mulsanne Sedan                                    $299,000

                 2014 Mercedes Benz S-Class Sedan                             $93,000

  •                  2014 Audi A8 Sedan                                                     $75,000
                 2014 Jaguar XJ                                                              $74,000
  •                  2014 BMW 7 Series Sedan                                           $74,000
  •                  2014 Infiniti Q7                                                             $50,000
    •                  2014 Cadillac XTS Sedan                                              $45,000
  •                  2014 Lincoln MKS                                                        $40,000

  •                  2014 Ford Fusion Sedan                                                $22,000
    •                  2014 Honda Accord Sedan                                            $22,000

I was surfing for top rated sedans and come across The Car Connections website. I saw results for top ranking sedans and found the nine sedans which ranked in top 4 rankings:

No doubt Mercedes Benz S class still enjoy the top ranking and most readers agrees with it. Comparing Bentley Mulsanne is insane to compare because of its price yet for sake of category that make sense.

I don't know about Jaguar which seems like need more exposure in market. BMW 7 series is a great luxury car but somehow Infinity is very aggressive in marketing and over shadowing major players regardless of its steep prices.

Cadillac and Lincoln are nice vehicles especially for keeping price in mind for class and luxury.

It is very funny due to some reason that Ford Fusion is running ahead of Honda Accord. It is simply funny to me when we really compare the reliability and performance of two. Well it is welcoming that Ford is putting its best efforts to challenging leadership of Japanese technology and time will tell when this new fusion after finishing its first 5 years will hit the private repair shops after factory warranty and only then Honda Accord and Ford Fusion could be compared AppLE to AppLE for reliability and maintenance cost. Til then every thing is AppLEs to OrANgeS to me. More like a scrambled eggs with nine different eggs from different birds.

Moreover this Top Ranking Sedans which are descendents from different price classes does not provide much useful information to neither a customer who want to spend 20-30K nor to 40K-50K and so on.

Note: The above MSRP prices are approximate and also rounded and not actual prices. Please call your local or national dealers for price quotes.

Vehicle Buying Tips and Hints by Satnam Singh Sidhu BC

    Buyers and Salespersons Relation:

    1. Some car buyers are smarter than car salespersons and make it frustrative for salespersons
    2. Some car buyers are at par with car salespersons and make it frustrative for new salespersons
    3. Some car buyers pick sales person's brain to get knowledge and frustrates average salespersons
    4. Some car buyers mistakenly trusts salespersons and it is like silver spoon in salespersons mouth
    5. Some car buyers are very defensive and salespersons need to dance on their tunes to build trust
    6. Some car buyers take a gazillion years to decide and remain salesperson's nightmare until they buy
    7. Some car buyers bring troops of advisers with them and salespersons bounces like ping pong ball

    Your possibilities at Car Dealerships:

Salesperson            Sales Manager         Finance Manager         Service Advisor

    1. Good                        Good                         Good                             Good
    2. Yo-Yo                         Yo-Yo                       Yo-Yo                           Yo-Yo
    3. Sucker                      Sucker                       Sucker                           Sucker

    1. Good:              Who help buyer to buy best value product according to buyer's needs
    2. Yo-Yo:            Who know little about cars and sell wrong product to buyer unknowingly
    3. Sucker:            Who sucks every single penny from customer's pocket for bigger pay cheque

    Tip for buyers:

    1. Compare at least 2 or 3 products or services before buying possibly at different dealerships
    2. Ask Salesperson about his/her experience and testimonies if possible
    3. Make a list of important questions before shopping
    4. Keep in mind majority salespeople may not lie to you, but they may not tell you important facts about vehicle if you don't ask

Make sure salesperson is at same page as you for following:

    1. understands your needs
    2. understands your minimum features requirement
    3. understands your budget
    4. presents vehicle suitable to your budget, needs, features and quality
    5. discloses everything about vehicle

Once you like a product that suits to your needs and budget, now make sure:

    1. price is right...compare by shopping around
    2. talk to same salesperson if revisiting, preferably call ahead of time
    3. before proceeding to price negotiation, make sure you check their promotional price on internet or newspapers that may be lower than sticker price
    4. make sure listing price includes documentation fee, freight and delivery fee and any other fees or charges
    5. interest rate for financing and leasing and different terms
    6. for best rates your credit score must be above 650
    7. be careful if you like a particular model then you must make a written notes that specify different feature options and prices
    8. Now proceed to Sales Manager for price negotiations and initial only on negotiated price with clear knowledge of what's included in price.

    Important Initials and Signatures:

If price is right, proceed to finance manager and MAKE SURE YOU DON'T SIGN OR INITIAL anywhere until you read and understand and ask if it is not clear ask for help. Important initials are:

    1. Declaration of vehicle history of accidents and where it came from (which province or country)
    2. If it has any major accident or rebuilt status refrain from buying that vehicle.
    3. Don't sign blindly because salesperson told you verbally.
    4. At this point once you initial or sign without reading and understanding, it would be too late
    5. Later, if you find out that vehicle had major accident or rust because it came from heavy snow or moisture area or flood affected area, after signing documents then it becomes headache for you to renegotiate or return the vehicle without litigation or arbitration

Make sure you know the terms and conditions of loan or lease before signing documents:

    1.  Term of loan or lease
    2.  interest rate
    3.  monthly payment or bi-weekly payment
    4.  any additional finance charges or registration fees
    5.  if interest is fix or variable
    6. any penalty for early loan paid-off

Lease terms and conditions are normally tricky and need additional care to understand it:

    1. Most important is cost of buyout at the end of term
    2. Any additional or hidden charges for yearly mileage cap, vehicle wear and tear and damages
    3. Leased vehicle means that it is similar to a rental vehicle but for longer period under contract that includes full responsibility of you to maintain and look after the vehicle and return at the end of the contract or buy out as negotiated in the contract.

    Generally Lease have following advantages:

    1. Lower monthly payment than financed payment
    2. Business expense write off may be more flexible
    3. If you like to change vehicle after lease expiry
    4. If financing trouble

Please note: These are few hints and that gives you some tools to negotiate carefully. This article does not bear any responsibility for any claims arising out of this advice. Please never sign a document without full knowledge of its terms and conditions. If in doubt please take expert advice or legal advice before signing any document or contract.

In nutshell, more you know about vehicle buying process and exercise care and caution during negotiations and signing any document, more beneficial to you and frustrating for most salesperson who are not fully professional and empathetic to buyer's needs and budget.

Why Honda Civic is more loved than Acura Integra in BC!

Surrey Auto Mall - One less headache to find a new or used car's information in Surrey BC Canada

Used Acura and Honda cars for sale in BC versus Canada (Source:  www.Autotrader.ca)

                              Canada           BC         Percentage

    Acura MDX         865               97            11%
    Acura RDX          417               54            13%
    Acura TL             905             108            12%
    Acura TSX           387               40            10%
    Acura Integra        135               25            18%

    Total cars           2709              324            12%
    for sale

Looking at these figures above give up two interesting results:

1 Acura MDX, RDX, TL and TSX that are available for sale falls in 10-12% range.
That shows that these vehicles are on sale by almost same percentage of BC sellers compared to    Canadian Sellers. In other words if there are 100 vehicles in Canada for sale, almost 10 to 12          cars from BC for sale.

2 Acura Integra is only one exception in which case if 100 Integras are for sale in Canada, 18 are        available in BC only. No doubt Integra is a small car about the size of Honda Accord and chances    are more students have its possession. It means in BC students prefer this car over others.

    Honda Pilot              644             69            11%
    Honda Odyssey       1144           173            15%
    Honda CRV            1968           199            10%
    Honda Accord         2494           284            11%
    Honda Civic            7870           689              8%

    Total cars              14120         1414            10%
    for sale

    Interesting:

1 Why sellers of Honda and Acura across Canada versus BC are almost same percentage 10-12%
2 Why regardless of models and makes the percentage of sellers falls in 10-12% category except        Honda Odyssey 15% (more people in BC want to sell it); Acura Integra 18% (more people in BC    want to sell it); whereas only 8% BC Honda Civic owners want to sell it.

It show Honda Civic is more liked by BC Civic owners but at the same time Integra is less liked by BC Integra owners.

Why more Odysseys are for sale in BC? May be some one can explain! Why?

Chevrolet Corvette versus Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

Surrey Auto Mall - One less headache to find a new or used car's information in Surrey BC Canada

Mustang Shelby GT500 and the Chevrolet Corvette are two legendary fastest sports cars of North America.
Edmunds took them to the track and compared apple to apple to show their performance and handling on the real track.
Chevy Corvette comes with 455-hp from its 6.2-liter V8 engine, while the Shelby comes with 662-hp via a supercharged 5.8-liter V8 engine.
Which one is better in your opinion in speed and handling!
Both are neck to neck in their handling capacity and power and a driver also makes a difference. Weather conditions can make a big difference in road handling and speed of both cars.
Also the driver's comfort and cars road handling capability under various weather conditions does makes a difference to produce the best results. Assuming both drivers have same capabilities under various road and weather conditions, it is likely that car with more horse power is going to have an edge.
Rest is up to you. But just a reminder never try to race on streets. It is unlawful and unsafe for everyone who shares the roads and surroundings.
